Garbage is the dark side of consumer society: we manufacture to throw away and we throw away in order to manufacture once again. While the packaging industry generates huge volumes of plastic, glass, paper and metal destined to be thrown out after a single use, our governments warn that the garbage dumps are overflowing and encourage consumers to recycle.

At the Orri, we try very hard to reduce the amount of garbage we produce: we favor buying products with minimal packaging, compost all organic waste, recycle glass, packaging, paper, cardboard, batteries, light bulbs, toner, cooking oil, etc. And to go a little further, we recycle 'naturally' as our ancestors did: our pets (dogs and cats) eat all of the food left on our guests' plates at the end of each meal service.
Through these efforts, the volume of garbage that we actually throw away is divided by 4: for each bag of garbage that goes to the dump, we produce 3 more bags destined to be recycled, composted or fed to our pets.
