Until very recently, people around the world devoted a large part of their time to producing food and to preparing and eating meals. Today, most of us spend much less time with this process: we shop in large supermarkets that are filled with foods produced and distributed by a global industry. Though they come from around the world, are wrapped in beautiful packages and are often easy to prepare, many of these products have little taste and not much nutritional value. Ironically, the people who produce them cannot make a decent living and those who consume them have an ever growing number of health issues.

At the Orri, we work actively to support an alternative model of food production. From the beginning, we have chosen the products we serve based on two criteria: proximity (locally produced foods) and environmental respect (organically produced foods). Over the years, we’ve established a relationship of trust with a network of more than 30 suppliers. Some are neighbors, others are militant organic farmers. Sourcing our food in this way allows us to favor both local and environmentally friendly food production, support people who share our ideals, and serve products of exceptional quality to our guests.
