For us, the Orri is a life project. From the beginning, we wanted to create a different kind of tourist accommodation, one that would function in harmony with nature and would operate as a platform to get people thinking. We hoped to demonstrate that it is possible to offer real comfort operating principally with renewable energies and, at the same time, to make a decent living running a business that tries to take environmental respect into consideration at all levels.

To convey this message, we use different resources: informative posters on the walls and dossiers in our guest rooms explain the details of our policies to adults; games and books about nature in our library get kids thinking. As former teachers, we recognize the importance of education. On a regular basis, we open the house to groups of kids, teens and adults interested in learning more about the details of our ecolodge's operation and about why we do what we do.
